Castle Rat is a ‘Medieval Fantasy Doom Metal band’ led by the Rat Queen on a mission to expand and defend ‘The Realm’ from those who seek to destroy it. She is joined by The Count, The Plague Doctor, and The Druid. Together they face the relentless wrath of their arch nemesis: Death Herself — ‘The Rat Reaperess.”
Founded in 2019 in Brooklyn, New York City, U.S.A. by Rat Queen ((Riley Pinkerton) vocals(lead) and guitars (rhythm)), The Rat Reaperess (performance), The Count ((Franco Vittore) guitars (lead) and vocals (backing)), The Druid ((Joshua Strmic) drums) and The Plague Doctor ((Ronnie Lanzilotta) bass).
– While not playing any instruments, Madeline Wright is also a member, acting on stage as the band’s nemesis “The Rat Reaperess”.
The band genre is a Doom Metal and lyrical themes are Fantasy, Epic & Medieval, Dungers.
Current label is the ‘King Volume Records’ in Santa Fe, New Mexico, U.S.A..
Along their journey ‘Castle Rat’ has toured American Southwest, played DesertFest NYC (Melvins/Boris/Monster Magnet) and played as support for Monolord, Firebreather, Stonefield, & The Well, with their debut LP ‘Into The Realm’ set to release in April 2024. Since the band’s pre-plague inception in October 2019, Castle Rat has forged an album and curated a live performance to satisfy those who crave swords & sorcery; stoner & doom; battle-babes & beasts; Frazetta & Sabbath – by quoted by the band.
Was released in digital format on their bandcamp, the first full album – composed of nine an epic tracks – three tracks were released in single format in the last years and in 2024; – as the ‘Feed the Dream’ (2022), ‘Dagger Dragger’ (2023) and ‘Cry For Me’ (2024).
